Each piece of jewelry in my collection is a one of a kind creation. Some of the beads are handmade and irreplaceable. Because I choose to work with raw materials that are asymmetrical, I design the necklaces to honor that irregularity rather than hide it. When possible, I identify the composition of the beads for you, and in the descriptions, I tell the stories behind each one. As you read these stories, you’ll see that each necklace has its own unique history. |

One story in particular reflects this concept of creative legacy at work: Sonia Goodman (1918-2002) and her daughter Nikki Schumann. I met Nikki after Sonia had died, leaving her daughter an enormous closet full of beads collected from all over the world. Nikki is an artist but not a jeweler, so she had no idea what to do with the beads.
After Nikki and I met, I could imagine so many many possibilities for these |

treasures, and, thanks to Nikki’s generosity, many of Sonia’s beads became part of the one-of-a-kind creations in my collection. Tracing the heritage of each of these beads, I grew even more interested in exploring new sources of beads around the world. |

Each of my necklaces is infused with the love, joy and passion of creation. Each one has its own voice, its own beauty, and its own energy. Each one is a treasure and a connection to another time and place. Perhaps some of them will speak to you. |
